Keeping it real is just what Jesus did. He took a lot of heat for it, but He changed the world. Without the 20 somethings we can do the math on how long our respective church will be around.

Pander, pander, pander pander- that all evangelicalism is about. It's not the job of the church to get on stage and entertain the world. Preach the truth, and if the world can't take it, or wants simply to be entertained, then that's their loss.

This is a wonderful article. I think one thing that the church--including in the bible--has always struggled with is embracing diversity. I dont specifically mean race, but socioeconomic class, and age too. Why have we had this struggle? Becasue Jesus calls us ALL. He said I will pour out my Spirit all ALL FLESH. That's young, old, rich poor, Asian, White, African, Jew, gentile EVERYONE. Growing into the image of Jesus Christ meant for the first church, as it means to us today, dying in some ways to the comfort level we each have in being surrounded by those that are like us. Just as Paul said to the church at Corinth, we not be divided. It's easy to drift toward those that resemble us, and there is no sin in that; the sin is in excluding those that are diverse from us. But that's not how heaven will be. There, we will worship the King among those who are different, but we will be familiar in the kinship of the Holy Spirit. God, help us grow more and more into your image.

Great and very helful and needed information. Provides real good and practical ideas to work in an issue which is always a challenge for all churches. I decided to translate the article into Spanish to be dicussed at the board and leadership meeting, with tihe purpose of having an open discussion with the church at large. Thank you
