In light of this week's shootings in Colorado, these free resources from Building Church Leaders may be useful: · How to think about evil in light of Christ’s victory (http://www.buildingchurchleaders.com/articles/2007/070418a.html) · Pastoral tools for answering tough questions (http://www.buildingchurchleaders.com/downloads/practicalministryskills/answeringtoughquestions) Matt

Create an emergency response team. Select a small group of mature people with a leader you can trust. Train them to give immediate "relief" like visiting the people, calling for doctor/other professional help, asking for prayer from church, mobilising meals, crisis accommodation, etc. Develop a leadership team that can support you in time of need. People you can call on at any hour and they will be be prepared to attend. Also a strong prayer team is essential. The minister's involvement is critical and you should be there for those who need your counsel and care. The teams are your assistants.
