Guilt and shame are separate concepts...shame is feeling there is something fundamentally flawed with me...provide an environment for openness by personal modeling not by prying

I agree in general and in principle, but you have to be ***EXTREMELY*** careful about drawing people about prematurely about issues of shame. Irreparable harm can be done by forcing people to bring to light shameful matters. The author is entirely too trusting of a group's collective competence in matters of professional psychoanalysis and counseling, trusting to the point of being downright dangerous. Bonham is as naive in his way as Joe and Jane are in theirs! JC
